How it works

    Open PDF Studio and choose PDF to Word

    Pick it from the convert section of the tool list and drop your PDF in. It opens immediately, with nothing uploaded anywhere.

    Convert

    The text is pulled out of the PDF and written into a Word-compatible .rtf file. Word, Pages and Google Docs all open .rtf without anything extra installed.

    Edit it wherever you like

    Open the downloaded file and rewrite it as ordinary editable text. The words are real text, not a picture of text, so you can search and change them.

Questions

Does the layout come across?
No, and it is better to say so up front: this gives you the text, not the original design. If you need the look kept exactly, edit the PDF itself in the PDF editor instead of converting it.
Is it free?
Yes — free on every plan, with no watermark. You need an account so your work saves, and that is all.
What about a scanned PDF?
A scan is a picture of a page, so there is no text to pull out. Reading words off a scan is what the AI read in the PDF editor does, and it costs credits — the page says so before it runs.
